Diatherix Laboratories Receives Accreditation from College of American Pathologists
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Diatherix Laboratories, LLC, a leading provider of multiplex diagnostic services and solutions, today announced it has been awarded accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent on-site inspection.
CAP accreditation is awarded to facilities that meet high quality standards in laboratory services. During the accreditation process, the CAP inspector examined the laboratory's records and quality control procedures for the preceding two years. The inspector also reviewed laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and records, and overall management. Diatherix now maintains both CAP accreditation and a high complexity CLIA certification.
"This recognition represents a significant endorsement of our laboratory's quality standards and services," said Dennis Grimaud, CEO of Diatherix Laboratories. "We are honored to join the ranks of some of the world's most prominent clinical laboratories in achieving accreditation."
The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, is recognized by the federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government's own inspection program.
