BELMONT, Mass., Dec. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dianne Georgian-Smith, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Medicine in recognition of her role as Radiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Amassing over thirty years of experience in the industry and ten years of experience in her current role as a Radiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Georgian Smith has had extensive experience throughout the years. In this capacity, Dr. Georgian-Smith has specialized in the areas of breast imaging and pathologic correlations.
Originally inspired to become a veterinarian, Dr. Georgian-Smith states, "Both of my parents were prominent organic chemists and I watched their work. My father, Dr. Vlasios Georgian, worked with the Nobel Laureate, Dr. Robert Woodward at Harvard for the synthesis of Penicillin. My father also holds patents with Edwin Land at Polaroid for work during WWII I've adopted my parents' key to success, which is simply, perseverance."
Throughout the course of her education and training, Dr. Georgian-Smith earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University. She then went on to complete her Medical degree from Case Western University School of Medicine in 1983. Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, she completed her residency in Radiology from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1988, as well as her Fellowship in Breast Imaging at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1989.
To further her professional development, Dr. Georgian-Smith is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Breast Imaging, and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School.
In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments, she earned a Silver Medal for her Scientific Exhibit from the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2004; as well as the Cum Laude Award from the RSNA Education Exhibit in 1992, 2009 and 2011.
A renowned published author, Dr. Georgian-Smith has published several articles and chapters in prominent medical journals and textbooks, and has presented endless posters and abstracts at various medical conferences. In addition, she is the co-author of Breast Imaging and Pathological Correlations: A Pattern-Based Approach, which hit #72 on Amazon's Top 100 best sellers list in radiology six months after its publication.
When not working, Dr. Georgian-Smith enjoys traveling, specifically to Florida and Maine, and watching her daughter compete in equestrian competitions.
She dedicates this recognition to her father, Vlasios Georgian; to the loving memory of her mother, Guadelupe Torres Guzman; and to William E. Shiels II, D.O., who was a Pediatric Radiologist, and passed away a few years ago. For 25 years, they paired to teach radiologists all over the world the skills of performing ultrasound guided procedures using the tissue phantom, the turkey breast.
