Dianne Georgian-Smith, M.D. is recognized by Continental Who's Who
BELMONT, Mass., Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dianne Georgian-Smith, M.D., is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Medical field.
Dr. Georgian-Smith serves as a Radiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, located near Boston, Massachusetts. She has worked in this position for the past ten years, and brings extensive expertise in the areas of breast imaging and pathologic correlations, as well as over 30 years of career experience, to her role.
In addition to her work with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dr. Georgian-Smith works as an Imager at Boston Medical Center and holds privileges at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She shares her talent in the classroom as an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Radiology at the Boston University School of Medicine. She is also the published co-author of Breast Imaging and Pathological Correlations: A Pattern-Based Approach, which hit #72 on Amazon's Top 100 best sellers list in radiology six months after its publication.
"Originally I wanted to be a veterinarian," Dr. Georgian-Smith said. "But both of my parents were prominent organic chemists and I watched their work. My father, Valises Georgian, worked with Robert Woodward in his groundbreaking work in Penicillin. I've adopted my father's key to success, which is simply, perseverance."
Dr. Georgian-Smith earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University. She then went on to complete her Medical degree from Case Western University School of Medicine in 1983. She completed her residency in Radiology from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1988, as well as her Fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1989. Dr. Gerogian-Smith is also Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology.
To further her professional development, Dr. Georgian-Smith is a Fellow of the American Board of Radiology. In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments in the field, she earned a Silver Medal for her Scientific Exhibit from the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2004; as well as the Cum Laude Award from the RSNA Education Exhibit in 1992, 2009 and 2011. She has also published several articles and chapters in renowned medical journals and textbooks, and has presented endless posters and abstracts at various medical conferences.
When not working, Dr. Georgian-Smith enjoys traveling, specifically to Florida, and watching her daughter compete in equestrian competitions. She dedicates this recognition to her father, Valises Georgian; to the loving memory of her mother, Guadelupe Torres Guzman; and to William E. Shields, D.O., who is a Pediatric Radiologist and trailblazer in the field of ultrasound specific to breast cancer.
