Diana Ramirez-Jasso Appointed Provost of The Boston Architectural College

BOSTON, Jan. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Diana Ramirez-Jasso has been appointed provost and academic vice president of The Boston Architectural College (BAC) after serving as interim provost since fall 2015.

Ramirez-Jasso joined the BAC as director of Liberal Studies and full-time faculty in 2010, before being named dean of Graduate Studies and director of History and Theory of Design. She served in this capacity until 2014, when she was elevated to associate provost.

Ramirez-Jasso holds a Ph.D. in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning and a Master of Arts from Harvard University, in addition to a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a professional degree in architecture, with honors, from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in Mexico.

An accomplished and distinguished scholar, Ramirez-Jasso's academic and professional careers are marked with copious accolades and distinctions. She is the recipient of prestigious Fulbright and AAUW Fellowships, research fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and merit awards from the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and MIT, among others. In 2014, Ramirez-Jasso was recognized as one of 12 Top Scholars Under Forty by Diverse Issues in Higher Education.

Founded more than 125 years ago, The Boston Architectural College offers spatial design bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture, and design. It also provides certificates in digital design and visualization and sustainable design. The BAC was the first architectural school to offer online architecture and design degrees.
