Diamonds International to Raise Over $100k for Hurricane Irma Relief

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamonds International founders, Morris, Albert and Donna Gad, announced yesterday evening a YouCaring.com / Diamonds International Hurricane Irma Relief Fund with a goal of raising over $100,000. To encourage awareness and support during this critical time, the Gad's have stated they will match $1 for every $1 donation up to the goal amount.  Diamonds International is working with locals in the Caribbean to determine immediate and long term support needed by local communities.

"Diamonds International is dedicated to helping our employees, their families and the surrounding communities before, during and after these devastating times," the Gad family stated.  "Being one of the largest retailers in the Caribbean, Mexico and Alaska this cause is close to our hearts.  The destruction of Irma is still being assessed but we know today that thousands of our employees have been affected by this disaster and many have lost their homes and are without food, shelter and water in the Caribbean area - specifically Tortola, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Key West and Grand Turks.  We are dedicated to providing these communities with as much humanitarian assistance as possible."

Diamonds International is currently chartering two planes from Barbados carrying supplies, including water, food, blankets, first aid necessities and much more; as well as returning with evacuees to the safety of Barbados. All donations will help to continue these efforts.  Diamonds International's number one goal is safety for all those affected by the tragedy of Irma.
