LAS VEGAS, Feb. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond Resorts™, a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, provided members a chance to be part of the action-packed Waste Management Phoenix Open from Feb. 1-4, 2018 in Arizona through Diamond Events, the company's experiential vacation program.
The golf tournament, held each year at TPC Scottsdale, is known for drawing a crowd and this year saw more than 700,000 attendees throughout the week. Among them was a lucky group of more than two dozen Diamond Resorts members, who enjoyed three days of the tournament in a private skybox on hole 17, where they had unrivaled views of the action.
The group also had an opportunity to have dinner one night with PGA TOUR professional Brian Gay, who finished the tournament 13-under-par, for an astounding top 10 finish.
Gay helped launch the Diamond Events program in 2013, and has been a brand ambassador for the company since, holding golf clinics for Diamond Resorts members. He also lends his name to Diamond's annual pro-am golf tournament, the Brian Gay Pro-Am, held each January a day before the Diamond Resorts Invitational™, a unique mixed-field golf event that benefits Florida Hospital for Children. As of 2018, the Pro-Am and Invitational have helped raise more than $3.1 million for the hospital.
"This event was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our members," said Mike Flaskey, Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Resorts™. "Not only did they get to have dinner with a PGA TOUR legend, they had the opportunity to then follow him around the course as he shot an incredible game."
