NEW YORK, March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F) will present "Diamonds Do Good" Awards to acclaimed actor David Oyelowo, Her Excellency Graça Machel - the former First Lady of South Africa and widow of former South Africa President Nelson Mandela, and to Helzberg Diamonds on June 4, 2017 in Las Vegas.
Diamond and jewelry industry leaders from throughout the world will gather to witness and support the global "Diamonds Do Good" Award Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel Ballroom on the eve of JCK Las Vegas, the industry's largest annual trade show.
David Oyelowo currently starring in the movie A UNITED KINGDOM will receive the International Vanguard Award for his visionary advocacy and leadership in the arts to support education and empowerment.
Her Excellency Graça Machel, founder and Chairman of the Graça Machel Trust, will receive the Global Humanitarian Award for her transformative leadership to empower women in Africa and her pivotal work with the United Nations.
Helzberg Diamonds, the iconic retailer and industry leader founded by the Helzberg family and now owned by Berkshire Hathaway – a Warren Buffett company, will receive the Corporate Legacy of Philanthropy Award. This is for their outstanding commitment and contributions to helping to improve the quality of life of people and communities for over 100 years.
The "Diamonds Do Good" Awards Gala will mark the 10th anniversary of the Diamond Empowerment Fund and its efforts to highlight and increase public awareness about the diamond and jewelry industry's good works and achievements.
