With the debut of the Miraj Diamond™ Platform, AKHAN Technologies, Inc. has developed a process in which n-type diamond material is created over silicon with previously undemonstrated characteristics, including:
- Shallow ionization energy of 250 meV,
- Higher carrier mobility (greater than 1000 cm(2)/VS in nanocrystalline diamond thin films),
- No graphitic phases, and
- High performance in low voltage high current diode device applications (900 A/mm(2) current density at +2V forward bias).
Directly challenging the domination of silicon, microchips fabricated from the Miraj Diamond™ Platform boast the capability to run electronics at higher speeds, with increased power handling capability, without overheating.
