PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dialogic, a cloud-optimized applications and infrastructure solutions provider for service providers, enterprises, and developers, announced today that a select number of the company's cloud-enabled software products are now additionally available on a software subscription basis. Software subscriptions are expected to align with growing customer needs and help fuel new business opportunities as different kinds of cloud adoption continues to accelerate.
As noted by a Gartner report titled "Moving to a Software Subscription Model," "by 2020, more than 80 percent of software vendors will change their business model from traditional license and maintenance to subscription." In the report, Laurie Wurster, Research Director at Gartner, states "Customers have moved from buying or leasing technology, to buying IT services, to 'buying' long-term relationships with providers. A hybrid cloud/on-premises model is rapidly becoming enterprises' deployment model of choice, and most software providers are becoming businesses that deploy using a cloud model."*
The new software subscription plans represent an alternative to existing software licensing and maintenance agreements, which remain available. Together, these options give customers an opportunity to choose between licensing and subscription terms, whichever best fits their business requirements. Dialogic software subscription plans include standard and premium support entitlement options. Onsite professional services engagements are also available. The company anticipates that software subscription plans will ultimately support public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and premise deployments.
"Dialogic shares our commitment to bringing innovative solutions to market that enable individuals and teams to create, collaborate, and be productive in ways never before imagined," said Mukesh Sundaram, AVP, Engineering Operations, BroadSoft. "We are delighted to work with Dialogic on this important tool."
"Our customers are not all at the same stages of cloud adoption and are demanding more flexibility on how they consume our industry-leading software media server and media management solutions," said Jim Machi, SVP of Product Management and Marketing at Dialogic. "We envision that Dialogic software subscription plans will be an excellent fit for our customers looking to leverage our software technologies in new services, such as their Communication as a Service offerings."
The following Dialogic® software products are available for subscription:
- PowerMedia® XMS - Media Server
- PowerMedia® MRB - Media Resource Broker
- PowerVille™ LB – Load Balancer for Real-Time Communications
