DHS' Efforts to Disrupt Alien Smuggling; Center for Immigration Studies' National Security Director Testifies

WASHINGTON, July 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today the Center for Immigration Studies' National Security Director, Janice Kephart, testified before the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism on "DHS' Efforts to Disrupt Alien Smuggling Across Our Borders."  Her testimony was based on her new mini-documentary, Hidden Cameras on the Arizona Border 2:  Guns, Drugs and 850 Illegal Aliens, which in less than a week of release has received over 115,000 YouTube views.  From Ms. Kephart's perspective, the Arizona federal border lands have become a focal point for "alien and drug smugglers to use them as a playground for travel and waste."  Hearing witnesses included the Custom and Border Protection's new Border Patrol Chief, Steve Fisher; and Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Director of Investigations.
