DHL Express Adds Direct Flight To Bahrain In Response To Increased Trade
MANAMA, Bahrain, June 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To meet rising demand for goods and services between Bahrain and the United States, DHL Express recently announced direct flight service from Cincinnati to Manama. The establishment of the new route will cut delivery time between the two countries by an entire day.
"We anticipate it will have a real and immediate impact on our customers' businesses," Ian Carey, Vice President, Aviation, DHL Express - Asia Pacific, East Europe, Middle East, Africa, said in an interview with Gulf Daily News.
The move comes as part of DHL's broader goal to expand the company's global capabilities and improve customer service. The company sees its new delivery point in Bahrain as a hub for DHL services in the Middle East and as critical to DHL's global network.
CEO of DHL Express, Ken Allen, reflected on the expansion: "In upgrading our global infrastructure we are delivering on our promise to be the world's leading cross-border express brand. We are thereby helping our customers get their goods significantly faster to their markets and making it easier for companies to access key industrial production centers."
DHL's announcement follows the June 1 lifting of the State of National Safety by His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa.
