Under the provisions of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), federal information systems must implement security standards and guidelines, as delineated in Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications. FISMA prescribes that every fiscal year at least one-third of the required security controls of every system must be assessed. An on-site team of DHA experts, in conjunction with Missing Link Security, is cyclically reviewing each system, identifying noncompliance or vulnerabilities and offering mitigation strategies for remediating the identified issues. The effort is being conducted in compliance with both FISMA and NIST 800-53a.
David A. McDaniel, Senior Vice President of Operations and Programs, Missing Link Security, said, "DHA Group has proven to be a strong business partner, evidencing professionalism and integrity at a level not often seen in this industry. Both DHA Group management and the on-site personnel truly understand the team concept, being both supportive and responsive to our needs and those of our client."
Yusuf Abdul-Salaam, Director of Emerging Markets, DHA Group, said, "Missing Link Security is a recognized leader in the federal information technology security space. Even more important from our perspective, Missing Link shares our commitment to delivering exceptional services in furtherance of the government's mission. We are pleased that Missing Link chose to partner with us, recognizing both our overall information technology expertise and our specialized proficiency in security assessments. Together, the partnership offers USPTO a level of support that would be difficult to match."
