DFW International Airport and Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport Sign Sister Airport Alliance Pact

New pact outlines collaborative cooperation and information sharing between major airports

TAOYUAN COUNTY, Taiwan, Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport officials joined with leaders of Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), the largest airport in Taiwan, in signing an alliance agreement designed to allow the two airports to work in close cooperation. The DFW-TIA Airport Alliance outlines the principles on which the two airports will work collaboratively on business and operational projects. DFW and Taoyuan airports will jointly promote direct passenger service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Taiwan, and will share information and best practices in areas ranging from sustainability to customer service, engineering, airport amenities and airfield operations.

Mr. Fegan and Mr. Lin signed the Memorandum of Understanding today at Taoyuan International Airport headquarters near Taipei. The sister airport agreement extends the business relationship between Taiwan and the Dallas/Fort Worth area, which includes a sister city alliance forged five years ago.

Taoyuan is the busiest international gateway in Taiwan and serves as a hub for China Airlines as well as EVA Air. It serves about 25 million passengers annually and ranks 15th in the world for air cargo.
