Development Centers Inc Invites Community to Celebrate Unique Art Showing
Exhibition to Showcase Expressive Work of Children and Adults
DETROIT, April 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Development Centers Inc / DCI has been actively involved with providing comprehensive behavioral health services to the residents of northwest Detroit and neighboring communities for almost thirty years. This spring they have embarked upon a series of innovative workshops to provide participants with hands-on experiences specially designed to bring out their inner creativity and artistic expression.
Kristen Anderson, a program intern at DCI and a Masters Degree candidate from the University of Michigan School of Social Work, was the co-chair for what will hopefully become an annual event. "All of those who attended really pushed themselves to try new things, create some fabulous pieces of artwork, make new friends and are now looking forward to celebrating their achievements."
Fellow DCI intern, U of M masters candidate and co-chair Matt Wollack also added "Our workshops were directed by two very talented local artists. Victoria Banks orchestrated our children's group, and Chazz Miller lead our adults. Both were outstanding in providing for a truly unique and dynamic experience for everyone."
All now look forward to displaying and celebrating their artistic achievements with the public at the Redford Township District Library on Tuesday, April 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Food and entertainment will be provided as well as the chance to hear first-hand from all the participants on what they enjoyed most out of the experience.
