Developers Embrace Traitify's Personality API at the DataWeek Hackathon
Developers build highly personalized apps at DataWeek's Hackathon, making Traitify the most popular API at this year's event.
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Developers now have access to Traitify's personality API through an online portal announced today at API World. The online resource allows developers to integrate personality assessments and rich psychological data into applications and websites in just minutes to create more human experiences. Due to the technology's broad applicability and updated developer portal, Traitify's API was the most widely used API at DataWeek's Hackathon. Traitify is currently being used in the education and human resources verticals but has broad applicability in online dating, social networking, e-commerce and retail, and entertainment.
"At Traitify, we believe readily accessible and easily understandable personality enriches social engagement and enhances commercial relationships," said Dan Sines, Co-Founder of Traitify. "With Traitify, you don't need to be a psychologist or have a big data team to understand people's personalities."
The Traitify API can be embedded or integrated into websites, mobile applications, games and more. Traitify is free to use in sandbox mode, and starts at only $0.40 per API call in the paid production environment. Developers can get up and running quickly using the portal's Quick Start Guide and other resources on the site.
Traitify offers an array of assessments for fluid integration with any product or service. Each assessment presents a rapid-fire slideshow of "me / not me" images, inviting users to move towards or away from personality concepts with which they do or do not identify with. While each selection is binary, the multiplicity of images allows for a full spectrum of results.
"I design products and services from an empathy-first perspective," said Seemant Kulleen, Data Visualizer at seemantK. "Traitify, with its well documented and easy-to-use API, helps bring an understanding of our users' emotional states and motivations, allowing us to tailor the product experience to each individual user. We receive invaluable insight without a ton of backend effort."
In related news, Traitify's Personality API was the most popular API used in the DataWeek hackathon. A wide variety of creative concepts resulted from Traitify's involvement in the event, including an application that uses Eventbrite and Mailjet to give organizers an overview of their attendees' personalities. Developer teams also created a site that matches users to travel destinations and Sparky, a project where users become "Guardians" to work with children in an effort to create violence-free schools and environments.
"Developers finally have a flexible, cost-effective platform to build personality into their applications, sites and services," said Derek Mercer, CEO of Traitify. "It's been amazing to witness the unexpected and inventive ways developers are using the Traitify API."
