Developers drive innovation during DocuSign Momentum 2017 hackathon

Google Cloud-sponsored hackathon challenges developers to innovate with DocuSign eSignature API, and hack-for-good benefits Techbridge Girls

SAN FRANCISCO, May 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- DOCUSIGN MOMENTUM 2017 - Building on increased engagement from the developer community across the board, more than 150 hackers worked through the night on Tuesday to meet four core challenges laid down here at DocuSign Momentum 2017.

Staying true to the theme of 'digital heroes' – a prevelant customer, partner and developer program for DocuSign this year – the Google Cloud-sponsored hackathon had developers driving innovation with the DocuSign API across four challenge areas:

Mobile – Anchored in the power of the DocuSign SDK for Android and iOS, this challenge offered the chance to create a new mobile app for DocuSign – no limitations, no constraints.
Payments – This challenge was based on the recently-released DocuSign Payments functionality, and coincides with beta availability of the DocuSign Payments API announced yesterday. The challenge was open to all forms of 'sign and pay' apps across all industries.
Google + DocuSign – Designed primarily with G-Suite and Google Cloud in mind, this challenge offered hackers the chance to combine the power of DocuSign with the breadth, reach and functionality of Google's offerings.
Hack for Good – Aimed squarely at the daily challenges faced by Techbridge Girls when encouraging female students to follow their passion in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), this challenge provided a blank canvass for developers to help advance the mission of the Oakland-headquartered national nonprofit. With almost all schools having complex paper-based processes, the opportunity for digital improvement here is huge.

The winning teams from the hackathon will be announced on stage at DocuSign Momentum at 5pm PT today (and reflected on the DocuSign news center) during the event's closing keynote, which will feature speakers from both Google and Techbridge Girls. The mobile, payments and Google challenge team winners will receive $1,000 and a Google Home. The Techbridge Girls challenge team winners will receive $1,500 and a Google Home. And one overall hack will be chosen as the grand prize winner and awarded $2,500.

To that end, in conjunction with the hack's digital heroes being announced, attendees at the closing keynot for DocuSign Momentum 2017 will have the chance to hear from Nikole Collins-Puri, CEO of Techbridge Girls.

"We have a 17 year track record and have impacted more than 7,000 girls through our after-school programs, more than 20,000 families and role models and close to 30,000 young people by increasing access and improving the ways that STEM education is delivered," said Collins-Puri.
