Station boasts fastest growing AM News and finishes #1 at Midday, 6 and 11 pm!
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., June 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- According to television ratings from Nielsen Media Research in the May 2012 sweeps period, WXYZ's 7 Action News This Morning is Detroit's fastest growing morning newscast in all major demographics.
7 Action News This Morning from 4:30 – 7:00 a.m. weekdays on Channel 7 led the way with a 40% growth in Women 18-49, a 2% growth in Women 25-54, a 26% growth in Adults 18-49, and an 8% growth in Adults 25-54. At the same time, WDIV saw a 46% decline in Women 18-49, a 41% decline in women 25-54, and a 36% decline in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. WJBK also experienced decreases in female and adult demographic categories.
7 Action News Midday retained its strong lead as Detroit's #1 12 Noon newscast in female and adult demographic categories, including Women and Adults 18-49, and Women and Adults 25-54, according to the Nielsen research for May 2012.
In the evening, 7 Action News at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, outperformed its competition with #1 time period finishes in Women 25-54, Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54, and Men 25-54, and tied WDIV for first place in Men 18-49.
Also, according to Nielsen's May ratings, 7 Action News is once again #1 in the 11pm time period Monday through Sunday in every major adult demographic including Women 18-49, Women 25-54, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.
