Detroit Aircraft and Lockheed-Martin Partner with Detroit Fire Department to Integrate the Indago VTOL Quad Rotor Unmanned Aerial System into Urban Firefighting and First Response
DETROIT, Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
What: Formal announcement of partnership between Detroit Aircraft and Lockheed-Martin to integrate unmanned aerial systems, or "drones," into urban firefighting and first response scenarios. The Indago will also support UAS applications in agricultural, energy, oil and gas, as well as various other sensing applications. Detroit Aircraft has established its headquarters and contract manufacturing operations in the former passenger terminal of the Coleman A. Young International Airport. The 19,000 SF facility includes state-of-the-art surface mount electronics manufacturing lines to support unmanned aircraft system manufacturing and integration. Detroit Aircraft manufactures and distributes Lockheed-Martin's Indago VTOL Quad Rotor and charging system. The two companies will announce a public-private partnership with the City of Detroit and the Detroit Fire Department.
