An Evening for Design and Fashion Enthusiasts
Old City Business Collective, Old City District and Old City Creative Corridor to Host a Variety of Unique Exhibitions and Events
PHILADELPHIA, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate a night inspired by all things design, three of Old City, Philadelphia's premier community organizations will host a variety of events on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m.
More than 20 participating businesses will host special events to celebrate Old City's Design and Fashion Night, including furniture showrooms, lighting showrooms, fashion boutiques, salons, art galleries, graphic designers, product designers and digital designers.
The special events for Design and Fashion Night will include everything from designer trunk shows, exhibits, featured textiles and more. Shoppers can check out Jonathan Adler's "Have it your Way," an event featuring textiles and pottery crafted by Aid To Artisans in Peru, while learning about the importance of the organization and the ease of designing textiles to order. Margot & Camille Optique will host a couture eyewear photo shoot and custom-made trunk show while Smak Parlour will host a jewelry trunk show by local artist Sultana Maria.
For those that prefer exclusive exhibits, a number of art galleries, showrooms, and boutiques will be offering private events. Design enthusiasts are invited to attend by invitation only. The private events include, "How to Make your Own Aromatherapy Products" at Moko Organic Beauty Studio, "Faces of a New China" (visual study of photography and video) hosted by Minima, Snyderman-Works Gallery featuring "Ron Isaacs – Closing Party and Trompe L'oiel Introducing: Three Shades of White Functional Ceramics," and Maiden Media Group's digital web design gallery featuring beautiful and creative web design showcasing the pieces that go into the process.
Attendees of the evening are invited to relax after their nightly activities by visiting participating restaurants, Bistro 7, Ristorante Panorama, and Dinardo's Famous Seafood for promotional discounts.
