Deshaun Watson And Ashley HomeStore Partner To Refurbish Nearly 200 Homes Damaged By Hurricane Harvey

HOUSTON, Oct. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Houston Texans' quarterback Deshaun Watson is going above and beyond to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, partnering with Ashley HomeStore to deliver home furnishings to flood-damaged houses that Houston Habitat for Humanity is helping to rebuild.

"Having a home is everything," said Watson, who was the recipient of a Habitat for Humanity home when he was just 11 years old. "Besides calling attention to the work of Habitat for Humanity, I'll be working with Ashley HomeStore to ensure every family gets the furniture they need."

The project represents part of the more than $1 million in furnishings for Harvey victims like these 176 families in the northeast Houston neighborhoods of Greensbrook Manor and Harrel Park. Homeowners will begin receiving deliveries and donations in early November, after working with Houston Habitat for Humanity volunteers to restore their homes.

"Driving the streets of these neighborhoods with piles of memories stacked on the front lawns was all we had to see," says Houston Ashley HomeStore CEO Gary Seals. "Then it was all about teaming up with Deshaun to get these families help."

While the homes are undergoing repairs, homeowners will work with Ashley HomeStore to ensure the appropriate furnishings are provided.
