Derek O. Zaba Joins CamberView Partners as Principal

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CamberView Partners, LLC, the leading source of independent, investor-led advice for public companies on shareholder activism and engagement, announced today that Derek O. Zaba has joined the firm as a Principal.  Mr. Zaba brings to his new role at CamberView years of experience investing in and advising public companies.  He was most recently a Partner at Voce Capital Management LLC, a value-driven, governance-focused investor that regularly engages in public activism.

As a Partner at Voce, Mr. Zaba was a key contributor across a wide variety of activities, including evaluating and selecting investment opportunities; identifying problematic governance practices; engaging with portfolio companies; and developing and executing contested campaigns.  Prior to joining Voce, Mr. Zaba was a Senior Associate at Scoggin Capital Management LLC, where he invested in companies undergoing significant corporate change, such as those involved in contested M&A and shareholder activism situations.  Prior to Scoggin, Mr. Zaba was a corporate attorney at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he counseled companies on a variety of matters including contested mergers & acquisitions transactions, proxy contests, and corporate governance. 

Mr. Zaba received a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he graduated Order of the Coif.  He received an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Systems Science and Mathematics, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis.  Mr. Zaba is a member of the State Bar of New York.
