Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain Moves Forward on National Dialogue Implementations
MANAMA, Bahrain, Sept. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On what was the International Day of Democracy on September 15, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain demonstrated democracy is alive in Bahrain as he headed a meeting of the committee in charge of implementing the National Dialogue reforms.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa reiterated the importance of continued progress regarding the implementation of the reforms.
The meeting included an update on the status of the many reforms and where they are in the implementation process.
In regards to the political reforms, 10 out of the 25 reforms have gone through the necessary governmental procedures and are ready to be implemented. The committee discussed the 82 economic reforms that are currently in the implementation process, and in respect to the social reforms, 24 of them have been finalized, while 56 of them are in the process of being implemented.
It was also noted that many of the reforms, which require constitutional amendments, are ready to go before the appropriate governmental committee next week.
