DEP's Williamsport, Harrisburg Regional Offices to Resume Normal Hours
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Environmental Protection's regional offices in Williamsport, Lycoming County, and Harrisburg, Dauphin County, are returning to normal operating hours, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The offices will be closed this weekend because recovery from recent floods has progressed and fewer residents are seeking DEP services. The offices also will be closed Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Columbus Day.
Residents who need water test kits or wish to drop them off for sampling are still encouraged to visit the regional offices during regular weekday business hours as well as the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) set up in various counties.
There are 20 DRCs across the state in Bradford, Bucks, Chester, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Luzerne, Lycoming, Montgomery, Northumberland, Philadelphia, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties. They are generally open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will be open on Columbus Day.
These centers can assist residents with flood recovery efforts and counseling and provide helpful information on loans and unemployment services.
For more information or to contact a regional office or DRC, visit www.dep.state.pa.us and click "Flood-related information" or "Regional Resources."
