The 275,000-square-foot clinic features a number of green and sustainable elements such as high-performance glass, locally quarried stone, and high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment. The design-build, finance-leaseback project was completed with partners at Cullinan Properties, LTD – a real estate firm that develops, manages, and owns medical, mixed-use, office, retail, and residential properties throughout the United States – and Page Southerland Page Architects. It is designed and built to achieve LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The project benefited tremendously from the application of Lean construction practices and methods, including BIM-based layout with a robotic total station and iPads, paperless coordination and shop drawing efforts, Nothing Hits the Ground – a program which uses rolling carts, dollies and pallet jacks to avoid many of the strains and sprains associated with material management – and digital punch list management. Project Executive Matt Nail said, "The utilization of Lean processes helped the team work safer, provide a higher quality product, and complete the project ahead of schedule."
