Department of Aging Celebrates Older Pennsylvanians Day at Farm Show
Highlighting Programs throughout the Week
HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of Aging will celebrate older adults on Monday, Jan. 7, by offering free coffee and cookies in the morning to older adults stopping by their department's booth at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
"We look forward to participating in the Pennsylvania Farm Show each year," Secretary of Aging Brian Duke said. "We invite farm show visitors to stop by our booth to discover more about the programs and services the department provides."
This year, the department will be highlighting several of its programs at the booth.
Tuesday, Jan. 8, representatives from the PACE/PACENET program will be present at the booth to provide information on the program as well as other prescription benefit programs. Older adults will be able to determine if they are eligible for PACE benefits at the booth and register for program assistance if they qualify.
Elder Abuse and Protective Services will be programs featured on Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 10. Throughout the eight-day event, department staff will be available to answer questions and provide information to farm show visitors.
