DALLAS, Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Deoleo, the world leader in sales of bottled olive oil, has announced the appointment of Glenn Hartman as its new CEO. Glenn, based in Dallas, Texas, will be responsible for U.S. and Canadian operations with the mission to grow the current value leadership of Deoleo in the U.S. and Canada. Key initiatives include implementing the expected relaunch of the number one olive oil brand worldwide, Bertolli; growing Carapelli, the newly reintroduced premium Italian brand; developing the number one Spanish brand, Carbonell; and launching the innovation plans for the coming years in the above-mentioned markets. Glenn will report to Miguel de Jaime, Deoleo Chief Commercial Officer, based in Madrid headquarters.
Glenn's diverse sales and marketing career has included Procter & Gamble, two privately held companies and Starbucks. Most recently, Glenn was Senior Vice President, Channel Development, at Starbucks, where he was responsible for the U.S. and Canadian Food, Drug, Mass, Club and Emerging Channels businesses. Over the last five years under his leadership, the Starbucks CPG business grew more than 75 percent, achieving five straight years in the top 10 ranking of fastest-growing midsize companies, according to IRI Pacesetters. This past year, the Starbucks brand grew 18 times the rate of the category and double the rate of the nearest competing coffee company.
Prior to his experience at Starbucks, Glenn was Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for CR Brands, a privately held laundry and household cleaning products company, where he led the revitalization of core brands through product, package, marketing and sales innovation. Prior to CR Brands, Glenn was Chief Customer Officer for Driveline Merchandising, where he was responsible for establishing strategies and priorities for growth, as well as managing customer acquisition and retention to develop a best-in-class in-store merchandising company.
Glenn worked for Procter & Gamble (P&G) for 25 years, where he held 14 different positions in leadership capacities including running sales organizations, market strategy and planning, customer service and logistics, retail merchandising and restructuring, as well as change management taskforces and integration teams. Glenn had direct sales responsibility of up to $1 billion dollars, and sales planning responsibility for $20 billion, with organizational responsibility of up to 3,000 people. Glenn received the President's award for leadership performance in running one of P&G's multifunctional customer teams.
Glenn graduated from Yale University.
Additionally, Deoleo has announced the appointment of Craig Grantham, based in Dallas, Texas, as its new Vice President of Sales with responsibilities over U.S. and Canadian operations and reporting to Glenn Hartman.
Craig was most recently Vice President of Sales at Fasttrak Foods, where he grew their snack business aggressively. He has had a successful CPG career in several consumer categories spanning more than 25 years. Craig started his career with 14 years at The Gillette Company (P&G), progressing through 10 different sales and internal positions of increasing responsibility, leading to corporate responsibility in sales, sales planning, trade marketing and sales operations. His experience and contributions in sales management, sales operations and sales finance at Mann Packing Co., Peet's Coffee and Del Monte Foods created significant growth across several categories in center store and fresh produce. It also led to improved P&L results for each brand. Craig's ability in driving iconic brands to continuous sales growth is fueled by his passion to win as well as his cross-functional and cross category business experience.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Kensington University.
"We are delighted to have Glenn and Craig on board," said Miguel de Jaime. "Once the restructuring period of the company is over, we will be back to the U.S. being our first and most important growth market. For the coming years, we have a plan to increase our investments in people, talent, capabilities and our assets to continue creating and delivering value that reinforces our leadership. I am sure both Glenn and Craig will contribute greatly to delighting American and Canadian consumers with high quality olive oils only our centennial global brands can offer, and working with our customers in joint value creation."
