CHICAGO, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Textura® Corporation (NYSE: TXTR), the leading provider of collaboration solutions for the construction industry, announced today that Denver Public Works has won a 2014 American Public Works Association (APWA) Colorado Award for the Department's implementation of the Textura-Construction Payment Management™ solution and resulting operational improvements.
Denver Public Works (DPW) completed implementation of Textura-CPM™ in 2013 to automate construction project invoicing and to speed up payments to contractors on DPW construction projects. DPW uses CPM to electronically collect and route invoices and lien waivers, improve compliance management and increase transparency of project activities.
A web-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Textura-CPM automates and streamlines payment management processes, including invoicing, lien waiver collection, compliance management, and disbursement. CPM replaces inefficient, paper-heavy manual processes with collaborative workflows that boost productivity and visibility for all users.
DPW, which now uses CPM to manage payments on most of the city's construction projects, has benefitted from significant efficiencies and other process improvements since implementation, said Terri Goodwin, Manager-Finance and Administration for DPW.
"Textura has helped us reach the goal of paying construction contractors quicker. With more efficient financial processes and improved compliance management, we have been able to cut the time it takes to pay city contractors in half," Goodwin said. She also noted that CPM has greatly increased stakeholder accountability around project activities.
These accomplishments contributed to DPW's recognition by the APWA Colorado Chapter, whose annual awards program recognizes extraordinary public works projects, programs and individuals in the state.
"The 2014 APWA Colorado Chapter award recognizes DPW's innovative vision to implement a technology system that makes its operations more efficient and gives contractors greater visibility," said Patrick Allin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Textura Corporation. "We offer our congratulations on the award, and we are thrilled that Denver quickly realized such significant value from using CPM. This recognition further demonstrates that public agencies can benefit from CPM in the same ways as their private-sector counterparts," Allin said.
The APWA Colorado Chapter started in 1962 with the mission of providing training and support to public works officials throughout Colorado. The 2014 APWA Colorado Chapter Awards will be presented Tuesday, October 14, at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Centre in Englewood, Colorado.
