Denver Marriott City Center Strikes Gold With New Restaurant And Bar
Chef Jean-Pierre Marechal opens Prospect's, Urban Kitchen & Bar at downtown Denver hotel
DENVER, Jan. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Diners prospecting for an experience they won't soon forget now have a new restaurant to indulge in at Denver Marriott City Center.
Prospect's, Urban Kitchen & Bar has opened to much fanfare at the downtown Denver hotel. Belgian-born chef Jean-Pierre Marechal brings his farm-to-table philosophy to the eatery with a socially engaging menu that allows diners to choose sharable bites or big-bite entrees with ingredients culled from the Denver area.
Marechal, whose culinary tendencies are French-Mediterranean with a touch of South American, has traveled and cooked in more than 21 countries on five continents. He has worked for multiple hotel properties in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Chicago, IL; San Diego, CA; and Charlotte, NC and speaks seven languages.
Among the must-try items on his menu at the Denver restaurant are the City Center tostada with Denver Tortilla Co. corn tortillas; local porter onion soup using Great Divide porter from Denver; Red Rocks New York strip with City Center rub; and a braised short rib with horseradish mash. Pork products come from Creminelli Fine Meats in Salt Lake City, UT, while the chicken in the ancho chili glazed chicken dish is fresh from Colorado's Red Bird Farm. Boulder-based Ice Cream Alchemy provides one of the main ingredients for Marechal's bourbon pecan pie. Prices for breakfast run $17 to $20, while lunch is $12 to $17 and dinner $20 to $30.
The bar at the downtown Denver restaurant offers 10 local beers on tap in addition to signature drinks that range from the six gun Manhattan and gold rush martini to the Colorado silver boom, rosemary cosmo and Prospects Moscow mule. Beers are priced from $6 to $8, with other drinks ranging from $10 to $15. Prompt and friendly bartenders will always be available to create custom concocted cocktails as well.
Prospect's, Urban Kitchen & Bar features casual, yet sophisticated spaces to eat, relax, work and network. Guests who choose to work will find plenty of plugs for electronic devices as well as high-speed Internet access. A communal table is ideal for small groups of business professionals winding down for an evening. Jazzy music will set the mood for breakfast, while up-tempo melodies and top 40 tunes will play during lunch and dinner, respectively.
The downtown Denver restaurant serves breakfast from 6:30 to 11 a.m. on weekdays and 7 to 11:30 a.m. weekends, lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. daily. The bar is open until 1 a.m. daily.
