Denver Magazine Hires Accomplished Journalist as Associate Editor

DENVER, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Denver Magazine announced today it has brought on Nicole Frehsee to fill the staff position of associate editor. Frehsee has years of experience as a journalist on a national level with a broad depth of expertise in the music, arts, and pop culture realms. She will start in her new role on Monday, May 3.

Originally from West Bloomfield, Michigan, Frehsee knew early on she would have a future in journalism. "I've always been fascinated by the art of storytelling," she says. "As I got older, I realized that writing was my dream because I wanted to be the one doing the telling."

In addition to interviewing noted musicians from Yoko Ono and 50 Cent to Kings of Leon and The Jonas Brothers, Frehsee was also a frequent television correspondent for Rolling Stone, appearing on CNN, Entertainment Tonight, E!, and Fox Business.

Frehsee holds a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan and a M.S. from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Frehsee has relocated to Denver not only for this next step in her career, but also for a change of lifestyle. Prior to her time in New York City, she lived in Ann Arbor, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and London.

"Over the past four years, I've been lucky enough to be able to pursue my passion for writing at Rolling Stone," says Frehsee. "Now, I'm really looking forward to shifting gears. I'm excited to experience a city from the inside out and cover stories on a more personal level."

Frehsee's hiring is the latest addition to Denver Magazine's burgeoning staff. Earlier this year, the publication hired Stacey Brugeman as food editor, who also came from a national title – Food & Wine.
