DentalEZ® Celebrates 100 Years of Columbia Dentoform® Teaching Solutions

Founded by Columbia University Engineering School graduate Ben Spitzer, the Company had its start in Manhattan, New York. Initially called Columbia Dental and X-Ray Company, the Company originally provided x-ray equipment for dental offices. In 1917, it added metal typodonts to its product offerings but shortly after, discontinued the x-ray equipment to focus exclusively on the dental models. Columbia's first typodont clients were located in local New York dental schools, and today, 100 years later, Columbia Dentoform products are sold to teaching institutions around the world.

The Company even provides lifelike animal typodont models including cats and dogs for veterinary dental education.  

While its history stretches back more than a century, the Columbia brand is looking toward the future with a continuous launch of products.
