Dental Convention in its 150th Year Brings Some 30,000 to McCormick Place Feb. 26-28
One of North America's Largest Exhibitions of Dental Products Brings Companies from 45 Countries to Showcase New Innovations and Technologies
CHICAGO, Feb. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly 30,000 dentists and dental professionals will get a first look at the latest innovations in dentistry at the Chicago Dental Society's 150th Midwinter Meeting.
The meeting, which kicks off Thursday, Feb. 26 at McCormick Place's West Building and runs through Saturday, Feb. 28, attracts dental professionals and more than 700 exhibitors from around the world. This year's meeting theme, "A Midwinter Celebration," focuses on the sesquicentennial of the Midwinter Meeting and its excellence in providing continuing education to the dental profession.
"This is CDS's opportunity to celebrate the efforts of the countless leaders and volunteers who not only recognized what the growth and success of the meeting could mean to our members and for the profession, but who brought that vision to reality," said 2015 CDS President Susan Becker Doroshow. "We also invite dental professionals from around the world to come to Chicago to share the excitement of this occasion and join in the Celebration."
The CDS Midwinter Meeting is recognized as one of the largest exhibits of dental products in North America and one of Chicago's top conventions. According to Choose Chicago, the city's convention and tourism bureau, the 2015 conference is forecasted to generate more than $44.5 million for the local economy.
Visitors to the premier dental Midwinter Meeting will not only get a first look at an array of new dental products, but will also have access to an agenda of educational programs that address all aspects of dentistry, including 217 courses and live patient demonstrations presented by 128 speakers. True to the Chicago Dental Society tradition, more than 50 percent of the courses will be complimentary.
Program topics will include:
- Oral cancer detection
- Pediatric dentistry
- Implants
- Restorative/Esthetic dentistry
A new track this year will be geared to new dentists that have been in practice for 10 years or less.
