Demand Strong for TeleTracking's TransferCenter™ Software

PITTSBURGH, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Within the first three months of its release, TeleTracking Technologies' TransferCenter™ software has been adopted by 13 medical centers to speed patient transfers from other hospitals.

The new TransferCenter™ application streamlines placement of transferred patients by automating much of the intake process. It also allows transfer center staff to make direct bed requests and get real time status updates within the application itself when it is integrated with Capacity Management Suite™, powered by TeleTracking XT™. Another popular feature is its ability to collect and store data for later use, such as the analysis of referral patterns, geographic volume, etc.  

According to Heidi McAfee, director of patient access/case management at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, Raleigh, NC, the application's business analytics tools provide valuable decision-making reports which help determine future investments in needed services.

"The software allows us to generate reports for our marketing team that monitor the types and volume of referrals from various hospitals and regions within our service area," McAfee said. WakeMed's McAfee said the TransferCenter™ software makes the transfer process "less labor intensive, saving us valuable time." And she's also pleased that the application is backed by a large, experienced software development firm.

"Almost every hospital that accepts transfers from other facilities  has developed some sort of proprietary software or process internally," she said, "But the TransferCenter™ software is maintained and modified regularly  in response to changing system requirements and/or any technical issues, which is something we can't do on a daily basis internally."
