SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to citizens' growing demand for digital services and fueled by an August 2014 investment from Los Angeles-based Caltius Equity, Vision Internet, innovators in online government, today announced the appointment of three new executives and plans to boost its workforce by 40 percent this year.

"Local government agencies are challenged to keep up with citizens who have become accustomed to doing business in an increasingly mobile and social world," said David Nachman, Vision Internet CEO. "We are expanding our team to help municipal and county governments meet these challenges with simple, cost-effective website and software solutions that increase government efficiency, enhance service and save taxpayers money."
The nearly 20-year-old company, which grew its workforce by 20 percent in 2014, is adding sales, marketing, product development, and project and account management professionals.
New additions to the leadership team include three veteran executives with experience in high-growth technology businesses:
- John Karambelas, vice president of sales, has a 20-year track record of successful leadership in government technology sales and will play a key role in shaping and developing Vision Internet's growth strategy.
- David Labowitz, vice president of operations, is a seasoned small business executive with more than 15 years of wide-ranging strategic and operational experience. He will oversee the development and maintenance of Vision Internet's advanced website solutions.
- Eric Tis, vice president of finance, is an experienced financial professional who has overseen the implementation of financial controls, operating procedures and long-term business strategies with several high-growth technology companies. He will play a central role in developing scalable business processes and financial controls to support the company's growth strategy.
Vision Internet's optimistic forecast for continued growth is supported by the results of a December 2014 "What's Next in Digital Communications for Local Government" survey. More than 330 local government leaders noted local government's responsibility to keep up with new technology and identified plans to invest in core technologies in 2015 and beyond. Highlights include:
- More than three quarters (77 percent) view their agency website as "essential" to their overall communications and public service strategy.
- Social media and content management systems (CMS) topped the list of technology investments planned for 2015.
- More than one third of respondents projected annual increases in technology budgets to be 20 percent or more over the next five years.
"The future of Vision Internet is bright, and we look forward to creative and innovative contributions from all our new employees," Nachman said. "We are looking for the best and the brightest to join our team and help us shape the future of local government technology."
