BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. (Deluxe) today announced the completion of multiple digital post-production elements for "Spectre," the 24th James Bond feature, released in the UK on October 26, 2015, and worldwide on November 6, 2015. Deluxe completed the digital intermediate (DI) coloring, and film and digital dailies; created on-screen graphics; and delivered the highly-anticipated feature to movie theatres around the world. Deluxe worked with the production team prior to initial shooting through to distribution.
Throughout the movie's creation and distribution, Deluxe brought their divisions together, leveraging experience and creative talent to ensure the film's success:
Deluxe's VFX, motion graphics, design and creative services unit in London researched military and medical technology to design in-camera graphics for the feature.
Deluxe worked closely with Director Sam Mendes and Director of Photography Hoyte van Hoytema before filming began to provide concept designs allowing the film's screen graphics to be captured in-camera.
The company's motion graphics and boutique design team created specific technology, UI systems, digital weapon renderings, infographics, adapted news footage and tools for use on monitor banks throughout the film.
Deluxe's color grading, dailies, location, DI and other post-production services division completed the dailies and DI for "Spectre."
During the main shoot, the Deluxe dailies team processed approximately 60,000 feet of film per six-day week, resulting in 1.2 million feet of 35mm and 70 hours of digital material shot on a blend of cameras, including the Alexa65. When filming moved to Mexico, Deluxe's Los Angeles team developed, scanned and sent 100 minutes of 2K scans back to London every day, harnessing Deluxe's global network to continue dailies color grading.
Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema, specializing in theatrical digital cinema mastering, distribution and key management, provided distribution for trailers, screening materials and masters for the global theatrical release.
Using its "Direct to Debut" platform for the trailer distribution, Deluxe provided full theatrical versioning and managing the global day/date/time of the first and subsequent trailers. More recently, the company provided screening materials for censorship purposes, internal screenings for EON and the delivery of the 4K premiere master.
Deluxe is also responsible for the global theatrical release for Sony, MGM (and their licensees), providing versioned (subbed/dubbed/multi sound format) masters for theatrical exhibition along with both physical and electronic distribution to theatres.
