Deltek's Manager of State and Local Industry Analysis to Moderate at NASCIO's Mid-Year Conference
State Experts Make Up Discussion Panel to Engage IT Contractors in the D.C. area
RESTON, Va., April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Deltek's INPUT Business Unit is pleased to announce that Chris Dixon, manager of state and local industry analysis, will moderate a panel session for the upcoming midyear conference of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). Dixon has been asked to mediate for the session entitled Fast and Furious: Control Cost and Streamline Operations, and is expected to oversee a prestigious panel comprising the nation's top information technology (IT) leaders from five separate states. Taking place on May 6, at the Capital Hilton in NW, Washington, D.C., the assembly will serve to shed light on the significance of IT consolidation and operations streamlining, as it relates to specific state initiatives. By attending, vendors will be given the rare, face-to-face opportunity of discussing the precise state and local IT trends and cutbacks for multiple regions—all at one time.
"Governors around the nation have made it clear in their State of the States addresses that IT consolidation and systems streamlining are a critically high priority for 2011," said Dixon. "At the state and local level, we are expecting to see an exceptional need for systems integration and infrastructure consolidation solutions as a result of program and IT consolidation initiatives. Thankfully, NASCIO has one again broken down communication barriers between contractors and agencies and provided vendors with a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the market. As a long-standing member of NASCIO, I am privileged to now work in collaboration with an organization that remains dedicated to enhancing growth and development within the IT industry."
Each presenter will deliver a presentation regarding the significance of consolidation or systems streamlining where IT is concerned for their state. Though Deltek's INPUT Business Unit has been a proud NASCIO member for the past ten years, this session will mark the first time an INPUT analyst has been asked to work directly in cooperation with the esteemed organization. As a means of engaging the D.C. metro area, the conference will also feature a CIO "fly-in", wherein featured State Chief Information Officers (CIO's) will tour around Capitol Hill for a direct look into government functionality at the nation's capital.
