ATLANTA, Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today celebrates the official re-opening of a renovated Delta Sky Club on Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's Concourse A. Later this month, a brand new Delta Sky Club will open on Concourse D, putting at least one Delta Sky Club on every concourse in Delta's leading international gateway. The refurbishments are part of Delta's more than $2 billion investment in enhancing the customer experience on the ground and in the air through 2013.

"Our customers will now be able to enjoy the award-winning Delta Sky Club experience on every concourse, with nine clubs at our hometown airport," said Wayne Aaron, Delta's vice president – Marketing Programs and Distribution Strategy. The renovated club on Concourse A, near gate A17, is the busiest club in the Delta system, with more than 55,000 visits monthly, and measures nearly 16,000 square feet. In response to customer feedback, conference rooms were removed and additional seating as well as additional power sources were added.
The new 5,700-foot club on Concourse D, near gate D27, is Delta's first on Concourse D. It will feature a full service bar and updated contemporary atmosphere.
The refurbished clubs offer full-service bars with complimentary beverages and snacks throughout the day; new art featuring aerial photography of the region; personalized flight assistance; updated restrooms; satellite television; and a work zone complete with complementary Wi-Fi, cyber counters with power outlets, desktop computers, wireless printers and additional charging stations.
Delta has renovated several other Delta Sky Clubs this year, including:
- A 3,104-square-foot club in Atlanta near Gate B-10, one of two clubs on the B Concourse.
- A 12,500-square-foot club at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, near the entrance to Concourses F and G. This facility is Delta's second-largest club by customer volume.
- A 5,595 square-foot club at New York-LaGuardia Airport, near the exit to the secure area.
- A 3,326 square-foot lounge at Philadelphia International Airport, adjacent to the Terminal D security exit.
- A new rooftop club in the South Satellite at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of this summer.
Last year, Delta renovated clubs in Los Angeles and Atlanta, opened a new club in Indianapolis and invested in products and facilities in all other clubs. Additionally, Delta recently added the flexibility of purchasing a club membership with the Delta Sky Club Payment Plan.
Delta's Sky Club investments are the latest in the airline's previously announced plan to invest more than $2 billion in enhanced global products, services and airport facilities through 2013. In addition to improving Delta Sky Clubs and upgrading its domestic fleet, Delta will offer full flat-bed seats on more than 140 widebody aircraft, feature personal, in-seat entertainment for both BusinessElite and Economy class customers on all widebody flights, and complete new terminal facilities for international customers at its two largest global gateways – Atlanta and New York-JFK.
