INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized Delta Faucet Company, the manufacturer of Delta®, Brizo® and Peerless® products, as a 2015 WaterSense® Sustained Excellence Award winner. Delta Faucet Company is a three-time WaterSense Partner of the Year winner and this year marks the first time the company received the Sustained Excellence Award – the highest partner recognition for continued, exemplary efforts to help advance the WaterSense program and water efficiency, and to educate U.S. consumers about the WaterSense program.
"As a WaterSense partner since the program's inception, we understand the importance of educating consumers about water efficiency," said Jai Shah, Delta Faucet Company president. "Delta Faucet Company is proud to design and engineer innovative WaterSense-labeled products that help people conserve water without sacrificing performance."
In 2014, Delta Faucet Company expanded its WaterSense-labeled product line with the Delta® Ashlyn® and Brizo® Sotria® bath collections, which offer water-efficient faucet and showerhead options. Additionally, the company introduced Delta toilets with FlushIQ® technology to bring leak detection and overflow protection, as well as a touch-free flush, to the market.
The toilets premiered at the New York Maker Faire, a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. Since launch, Delta Faucet research and development leaders have stressed the importance of updating older, less-efficient toilets and consistently underscore how capacitance technology ensures the accuracy of the toilets' water-saving features.
Recently, the Delta brand launched its HappiMess campaign, which encourages consumers to embrace mess as evidence of a life well lived. The campaign engages fans via inspiring creative content, engaging social campaigns, and hands-on "messy" experiences where consumers, media and influencers rely on the power of WaterSense-labeled Delta products to wash away some of life's toughest messes.
More than 1,700 utilities, manufacturers, retailers, builders, and organizations partner with the EPA through its WaterSense program. However, only a select few are recognized for their significant program contributions.
In producing and promoting WaterSense-labeled products, WaterSense partners, like Delta Faucet, have helped consumers save 346 billion gallons of water in 2014 alone1 — surpassing the total water used by all households in Texas in one year. WaterSense has also helped reduce the amount of energy needed to heat, pump, and treat water by 146 billion kilowatt hours, enough energy to supply a year's worth of power to more than 13.3 million homes.
"We are so appreciative of, and continually impressed by, our WaterSense partners' dedication to making water efficiency a priority," said Ellen Gilinsky, EPA Office of Water Senior Policy Advisor. "By touching lives with water-efficient products, programs, and practices on a daily basis, they're helping improve community resilience to extreme weather conditions such as drought and providing a foundation for water conservation that will help save water for future generations."
