Delta External Power Supply Model Earns UL Environment Energy Efficiency Certification
NORTHBROOK, Ill., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- UL Environment, Inc., a global leader in environmental evaluation and certification, announced today that Delta Electronics, Inc. is the first Taiwan-based company to earn UL Environment's Energy Efficiency Certification (EEC) Mark validating U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR® performance for external power adapters. Delta was the first manufacturer to complete testing and certification through UL's network of laboratories outside of the US. The mark will appear on the AC-DC external power supply Model 1429 product and packaging, which has been tested by UL Environment and proven to meet energy use specifications under ENERGY STAR program requirements for single voltage external AC-DC and AC-AC power supplies version 2.0.
"In an era of unsubstantiated energy efficiency claims, consumers want to be confident that the energy-efficiency claims of the products they are purchasing are legitimate," said Steve Wenc, president of UL Environment. "The UL Environment Energy Efficiency Certification program gives consumers confidence in their 'greener' purchasing choices by lending credibility to manufacturers producing energy-efficient products."
The mark will appear on both the product and product packaging, and features a leaf encapsulating the familiar "UL" initials with the words "Energy Verified" in black text.
In an effort to increase the transparency of its energy certification program, UL Environment has published the results of the AC-DC External Power Supply Model 1429 test on its Web site, www.ulenvironment.com.
Launched in February, the EEC program is applicable to multiple product categories, including appliances, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, high tech equipment and lighting products.
