Delos Advisory Board Members Present at Clinton Foundation Conference
Chopra and Gephardt Underscore Importance of Health and Wellness
INDIAN WELLS, Calif., Jan. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At the Clinton Foundation's Health Matters Conference this week, Delos Living, the pioneer of Wellness Real Estate, heeded the former President's call to make wellness a centerpiece of every community.
Delos Advisory Board Members Dick Gephardt and Deepak Chopra were featured speakers at the two-day conference.
In collaboration with researchers and doctors from Columbia University Medical School, Delos has spent several years conducting research to identify ways to enhance health and wellness benefits in living spaces. These studies will help lead to the development of homes that aim to reduce stress, enable more restful sleep, increase energy and vitality, improve blood circulation and posture, optimize digestion and enhance immunity and respiratory health. Delos Living places personal wellness and quality of life at the heart of its architecture and construction, a paradigm-shifting approach to the way we live.
Delos Living Co-Founder Morad Fareed, a long time supporter of President Clinton's initiatives, explained: "We are marrying the best of science and technology with design and construction to curate an unprecedented impact: enhanced health and well-being. We are looking to impact as many lives as we can, and spread the benefits of Wellness Real Estate globally."
Dr. Chopra, who joined the conference via video from India, said "my whole life has been committed to the understanding of wellness - personal, social, emotional, and spiritual. Now today, we have the tools and access to knowledge that can enable a critical mass to affect transformational change. Delos Living is a torch bearer for this movement, and is helping to propel us toward a new age of wellness for every human on the planet - I couldn't be more proud of my work with Delos."
Gephardt, former Democratic House Majority Leader, believes that individuals concerned about health and wellness will welcome Wellness Real Estate™ with open arms. "We are trying to figure out how to put passive and active features into houses and apartments that will help people," said Gephardt at the "Achieving Health and Well-Being" discussion.
Delos has attracted renowned luminaries with expertise in Wellness, Science, Public Policy and Business including Dr. Chopra, Gephardt, Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fla. and former Senator and HUD Secretary) and Terry McAuliffe (former Chairman of President Clinton's Presidential Campaign and Former DNC Chairman). They all serve on the Delos Living Advisory Board.
DELOS WELLNESS LOFT
In June 2011, Delos Living unveiled its first-ever luxury Wellness Loft in the heart of lower Manhattan's Meatpacking District. The loft was privately commissioned for a family seeking a home that could ultimately enhance their lives and optimize their health. It was the creation of this home that led to the formation of Delos Living. The loft features more than 75 wellness amenities and innovations, is ergonomically designed and addresses 23 therapies to improve the quality of occupants' air, water, light, nutrition and sleep. Many of these features, which are invisible to the naked eye, offer a home that not only promotes healthy living, but features elegant decor and design. The Meatpacking Loft is the world's first wellness home and an iconic step forward for real estate and wellness living.
DELOS WEST
In December 2011, Delos Living entered into a joint venture agreement with California-based developer Jack Theimer, to create Delos West. Delos West will develop properties on the west coast and in the Rocky Mountain region. Delos West is currently performing site selection for an Urban Loft development in San Francisco and has separately engaged with property owners in Montecito to develop the first suburban Delos homes.
