LEED certification was a critical component to Deloitte's corporate responsibility goals when moving into its new headquarters at the iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza building in August 2012. The newly renovated, eco-friendly office space includes benefits such as lower operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint.
Deloitte designed its headquarters as a next generation workplace, bringing to life the organization's commitment to cutting-edge technology, open and flexible work settings, and conference and training facilities.
"Innovation and sustainability are at the core of Deloitte's culture and what our clients and people expect," said Henry Phillips. Northeast regional managing partner, Deloitte LLP. "I am proud of all that we have achieved to make 30 Rockefeller Plaza a collaborative and modern work environment."
With the addition of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Deloitte now has a total of 16 LEED-certified offices, encompassing 1.8 million square feet of real estate.
"The certification of 30 Rockefeller Plaza further highlights our ongoing commitment to corporate responsibility through the implementation of environmentally sound design elements, delivered in a building never designed with such sustainability in mind," said Mary Ellen Rodgers, national managing partner, Workplace Services, Deloitte LLP.
LEED is an internationally recognized green building program. It provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. The U.S. Green Building Council offers four certification levels - platinum, gold, silver and certified.
