Deloitte's John Bigalke Named National Leader of Public Policy; Senior Partner for Global Health Care Practice
NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte, the largest professional services organization in the United States, has named John Bigalke national leader of public policy, part of Deloitte's legislative affairs and public policy group.
Bigalke, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP, most recently served as U.S. national industry leader for Deloitte's health sciences & government industry practice for the past nine years. He joined the organization in 1999. He has extensive experience in fraud investigation and litigation defense projects; expert witness testimony; due diligence and deal structuring for mergers and acquisitions transactions; Securities and Exchange Commission filings and tax-exempt bond financing; operation efficiency reviews; strategic planning; and performance improvement projects.

Bigalke has held various industry and professional leadership positions, including serving on the National Board of Directors of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where he held roles on the Executive and Governance Committees and the Principles and Practices Board. Bigalke has served as a member of the American Institute of CPAs' Healthcare Committee and as chairman of its Healthcare Conference Committee. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs.
He has assisted many of the leading associations and companies in the industry by helping them formulate their strategies for participating in the health care reform process, including dialogue and communications with the White House Office of Health Care Reform. In recognition of his contributions to Deloitte's health care practice, Bigalke has also been named senior partner of the global health care practice. In this role, he will facilitate coordination and collaboration between the practice in the United States and other Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited member firms.
