Deloitte received the 2012 Oracle Excellence Awards for Specialized Partner of the Year-North America in the following six categories:
Cloud Computing – An interactive entertainment software company needed to rationalize its system landscape and simplify its supply chain processes after growing rapidly from more than 30 acquisitions. The complexity of its ecosystem was exacerbated by the company's emphasis on digital transformation and its growing portfolio of digital products that were being released alongside packaged goods. To meet these challenges, the company decided to consolidate its ERP applications, standardize its global business processes, and transition to an Oracle On Demand hosting platform. Among other benefits, this cloud-based solution, which leveraged the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 and Oracle Fusion Middleware, is enabling the company to focus more on its online business, adapt faster to new revenue models, and integrate acquisitions more rapidly.
Consumer & Retail Industry – An independent government agency responsible for retail sales as well as wholesale sales and distribution of beverages used Oracle Retail and the Oracle E-Business Suite to implement a vendor managed inventory program and vendor collaboration solution. Objectives for this business transformation included managing working capital by reducing inventory carrying costs, decreasing stock-outs at stores, and supporting collaborative planning with vendors to improve forecasting efficiency for merchandise orders. The initial wave of rollouts has met the agency's inventory savings goals and improved vendor collaboration.
Global SI Applications Momentum – This award recognizes achievements in marketing, sales and team engagement. Deloitte concluded the year with several #1 rankings and recognitions in North America.
Manufacturing & Distribution Industry – A global manufacturer of consumer and industrial packaging materials and a provider of packaging services had a critical legacy system that would become unsupported after 2013. The company saw this not only as a necessity to address a "burning platform" but also as an opportunity to consolidate its 30+ ERP systems into a single, global Oracle instance. In addition to developing standard global processes that support the company's growth objectives, the engagement team also designed an innovative same-day order solution using Oracle Order Management, Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning, and the Oracle Manufacturing Execution System, among other Oracle technologies. This solution has resulted in improved greater customer convenience and overall customer experience.
Oil & Gas Industry — An independent energy company sought to replace aging, customized, un-integrated systems and to transform its business processes so it could operate as a world-class, entrepreneurial exploration and production organization. Among other goals, the company sought to significantly improve reporting accuracy and timeliness, reduce the extensive manual effort currently required to reconcile data and maintain a complex system architecture, and expedite transaction timelines for possible acquisitions and divestitures. The new solution helped achieve these objectives by utilizing the Oracle, infrastructure, technology, and applications, as well as the capabilities of several industry-specific upstream applications.
SCM & Manufacturing — As a leading distributor and logistics service provider to the oil and gas industry, a client company was faced with rapidly increasing business volume and a series of very effective acquisitions that were stretching its legacy systems to their limits. To mitigate the risks associated with its aging, overtaxed landscape, the company implemented a new Oracle E-Business Suite solution that not only maintained, but also helped improve, its industry leading inventory and distribution system, allowing for real-time transaction updates, cost updates, and tracking of inventory positions and moves. The solution, which included functionality extensions that were developed by strictly adhering to Oracle guidelines and leveraging native Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and web technology, fulfilled these objectives, while simultaneously establishing a platform for sustaining future growth and executing strategic initiatives related to supply chain optimization.
