Darcy joins former FBI cyber division special agent Mary Galligan and Dr. Elisabeth Hagen, currently serving as Under Secretary for Food Safety at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), who both recently joined Deloitte's market-leading Advisory business.
In joining Deloitte, Darcy brings a 40-year career in ethics and compliance, corporate governance and organizational leadership. During his decade-long tenure with the ECOA, Darcy was regarded as a leader in the compliance profession, working closely with ethics and compliance officers to understand and address the evolving complexities of the global marketplace. He previously served on the boards of E*TRADE Bank, where he chaired the nominating and governance committee and was a member of the audit committee, and New York National Bank (now a division of Hudson Valley Bank), where he was a member of the compliance committee.
Darcy also previously served as CEO of IGM, an insurance company jointly owned by General Reinsurance Corporation and Frank B. Hall & Company (now AON), as well as CEO of a related derivatives trading company. Further, he held senior positions at Prudential Securities Inc. (acquired by Wachovia).
"During his career, Keith has helped global organizations in a wide range of industries address compliance, governance and regulatory challenges. He also spent considerable time teaching ethics, compliance and corporate governance courses at some of America's leading business schools," said Nicole Sandford, national practice leader for governance and enterprise compliance services, Deloitte & Touche LLP. "Our clients will truly benefit from Keith's deep compliance experience and innovative approach to enhancing the effectiveness of compliance activities."
Darcy added, "Anticipating ethics and compliance risks can be an onerous task, whether you're a new compliance professional or an accomplished board audit committee member. However, the work of developing, testing and executing compliance risk management strategies must be ongoing and tailored to be effective. Failing to do so is fraught with peril."
Since 1994, Darcy has taught "Ethics and Leadership" courses in the executive programs at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He previously served as Associate Dean and Distinguished Professor of Business at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. Darcy is an active leader in ethics and compliance centers and think tanks, including those at the University of Notre Dame, Bentley University, Universite' Cergy du Pontois and St. Thomas Aquinas College.
A New York resident, Darcy earned his bachelor's degree from Fordham University's College of Business and his MBA from the Hagan Graduate School of Business at Iona College. He has conducted additional post-graduate study at New York Theological Seminary. He holds honorary doctorates from Manhattanville College and St. Thomas Aquinas College, respectively.
