Deloitte Ranked a Top 10 Employer by Working Mother for Second Consecutive Year
Deloitte earns high scores for women's advancement, flexibility, leave of absence and culture
NEW YORK, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte has announced that it has earned a Top 10 ranking on Working Mother magazine's 2010 list of "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers," a pool of organizations scoring high marks in such categories as flexibility, childcare, leave of absence and culture. This is the 17th straight year Deloitte has garnered a ranking in the national survey.
Working Mother cited Deloitte's innovative career-life strategies, including its corporate lattice model and Mass Career Customization program, which allows workers to "dial up" or "dial down" to fit various life stages. It also praised Deloitte's voluntary sabbatical program, which expands the career-life choices available to its people. This year's "100 Best" issue also features insights on retaining talent from Deloitte Chief Executive Officer Barry Salzberg in "CEO Lessons from the Top-Ten Companies."
"At a time when many organizations are cutting back on flexibility and other career-life programs, Deloitte remains deeply committed to these initiatives," said Barbara Adachi, leader of Deloitte's Initiative for the Retention and Advancement of Women. "We understand that successfully integrating career and life not only boosts morale and productivity, it is absolutely critical for high performance. That's why we continue to find ways to enable our people to fit life into work and work into life, without having to sacrifice one for the other."
Deloitte's success in fostering an inclusive environment has generated other accolades in the past year, including the Catalyst Award, which recognizes innovative, effective and measurable initiatives to advance women in the workplace. In addition, Deloitte was named the "model employer" in conjunction with "The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Changes Everything," a study released by Maria Shriver and the Center for American Progress.
