NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte has appointed Graham Cowie managing director of its Hermitage office, succeeding Ken Gerdesmeier who has retired.

Cowie will oversee more than 1,000 Deloitte employees that comprise its shared services group, including professionals in finance and accounting, information technology, call center support, human resources, financial advisory services, and the global office of information management.
In addition to his new role, Cowie retains his current responsibilities as controller of Deloitte LLP, where he leads the finance and accounting groups that oversee the integrity of the accounting records, accounting processes, and the internal controls of the U.S. firm.

Cowie's career at Deloitte spans more than 17 years. His managerial experience covers financial reporting and general accounting, payroll, receivables and asset reporting, accounts payable and international and expat accounting, and financial systems and internal control support.
Cowie holds bachelor's degrees in commerce and accounting from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California State Board of Accountants.
