This environment will enable clients to experience the complete Oracle Engineered Systems capability across systems and software components, while creating a Deloitte-hosted demonstration environment that will be used to create client-specific proofs of concept. This will assist clients in their efforts to jump-start projects, reduce implementation times and effectively manage their investments in Oracle's disruptive technologies that will continue to change how clients innovate and compete.
"Our clients across industries are looking for Oracle solutions that provide value faster and with reduced risk," says Jeffrey Davis, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and global Oracle alliance leader. "Deloitte's Center of Excellence combines Oracle technology with pre-configured and well-tested Deloitte services for each industry that can help clients move from development to deployment faster - with greater performance, predictability and reduced risk."
Deloitte's Center of Excellence is built on Oracle's Engineered Systems, which include the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine. Oracle's suite of Engineered Systems are designed to consolidate online transaction processing, databases and data warehouses and optimize the performance, reliability and scalability of Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Applications and third party applications. For clients, this can mean improved productivity via integrated management capabilities and innovation across hardware, virtualization, middleware and applications, lower cost of ownership and a shorter time-to-insight gained from corporate data.
A full range of Oracle applications has been loaded into the Center, including Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle's PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion Applications, and Oracle's JD Edwards. The application service is delivered in a cloud environment and enables clients to develop potential solution approaches, analyze potential performance metrics, and make any required adjustments to improve application performance before going live.
Deloitte is using the Center of Excellence to augment several pre-built industry services, including its Oil & Gas Business Intelligence Accelerator and the Analytics Accelerator for Insurance. In addition, Deloitte's ready-to-use SolutionPrint™ offerings will be enhanced by the Oracle Engineered Systems environment. Currently, Deloitte delivers SolutionPrints™ for Aerospace and Defense, Health Care, High Technology, Retail, Life Sciences, Manufacturing and Master Data Management.
The Center of Excellence will also help demonstrate how clients can make better business decisions based on enterprise analytics and end-to-end data usage, powered by a foundation of modern engineered systems with performance, scalability and comprehensive management from application to disk.
"Big data is more than just the latest buzzword in technology - it's what can help drive decision-making in businesses today," says Andy Bailey, senior vice president, Strategic Alliances, Oracle. "With billions of data points circulating throughout the organization, companies need a comprehensive strategy to enable technology tools to collect that data, analyze it, and use it to make quick and smart decisions about the future of their business. Deloitte's Center of Excellence for Oracle Engineered Systems can help deliver on the technology piece of that puzzle."
The Center of Excellence is the latest initiative in Deloitte's ongoing effort to help clients realize value from their investments across Oracle's technology stack. Deloitte's leadership has earned the company more than 30 Oracle Excellence Awards (previously called the Titan Awards) over the past seven years. In both 2012 and 2011, Deloitte was the only nominee to take six top honors in each year's competition.
