To help guide organizations in maximizing their AI investments, Deloitte recently released findings from its first "GenAI in M&A Pulse Survey," which provides fresh insights from 500 corporate and private equity (PE) leaders. The survey explores opportunities to scale AI use across the deal lifecycle, drive greater value creation, and overcome barriers to business adoption.

Findings show that AI in M&A has rapidly moved from pilot to execution, with 90% of respondents reporting they use AI. This momentum is accelerating, with more than one-third (37%) of dealmakers using AI across multiple stages of the M&A lifecycle.

Further, the survey revealed that more than one-third (35%) of M&A leaders said they see the greatest value when technology is combined with advisory support — more than three times the percentage that cited the value created by individual task-specific tools.

When asked about benefits realized from AI, dealmakers surveyed indicate they are already seeing tangible productivity gains in areas like automated status reporting (66%), enhanced decision-making (60%), and streamlined cross-functional coordination (51%).
