Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC Advises Health Management Resources Corporation in its Collaboration with Merck

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC ("DCF") acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Health Management Resources Corporation ("HMR") in a collaboration with Merck & Co., Inc. ("MRK").

Announced previously in a Dec. 20, 2013 press release from Merck, the collaboration resulted in the "launch of a new business focused on providing comprehensive, evidence-based weight management interventions for employers, hospitals, medical groups, health plans and patients. To bring these interventions to the market more effectively, a new organization has been created called HMR Weight Management Services Corporation, which brings together the capabilities of Merck and some of the assets of HMR, a leader in medical weight management. HMR Weight Management Services Corporation will operate as a subsidiary of Merck. HMR will continue to operate as an independent organization and will provide key support to HMR Weight Management Services Corporation."
