Deloitte Certified by SAP as a Provider of Application Management Services
NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte announced today it has been certified by SAP AG as a certified provider of application management services (AMS). Deloitte received this certification from SAP for its ability to deliver application management services with high-quality.
Application management services have become increasingly important for customers to help ensure high-quality operations of their SAP solutions in a sustainable, cost-effective manner. To be able to easily identify and judge the capabilities of potential service providers in this area, SAP developed a certification program for existing service providers that deliver application management services for SAP solutions. The certification focuses on effective practices and procedures for full lifecycle application management services engagements, including phases and activities such as assessment, scoping, design, set up of operations, hand over to production, and optimization.
"This certification provides Deloitte recognition within the marketplace for our commitment to providing leading application management services and further reinforces our position as a leading provider of SAP services across the entire application lifecycle," said Larry Calabro, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and AMS US service line lead. "These services have been targeted as a strategic growth area for Deloitte, and we continue to invest in tools and methodologies that challenge the normal delivery model of maintenance services – with a focus on cost effective application optimization."
To become an SAP-certified provider of application management services, Deloitte demonstrated capabilities in the following areas:
- The breadth of its application management service offerings across technologies, industries and regions
- The technical depth and knowledge of its application management services practitioners
- The consistent use of established tools and governance to manage key application management processes, such as incident management, problem management and change management
- A demonstrated methodology to effectively manage and improve application management services for its clients
- A demonstration of proprietary tools and accelerators for application management, such as resource estimating and process flows
"Achieving this certification from SAP confirms Deloitte's capabilities to provide professional application management services to SAP customers and denotes an important extension of our collaborative relationship," said Michael Ressemann, global head of Outsourcing Services and Solution Delivery, SAP AG. "We believe customers will benefit from Deloitte's broad experience with SAP solutions, which can help them in their efforts to achieve the operational efficiencies needed to remain competitive, aligning business objects with the SAP application portfolio, leading to increased ROI from existing investments."
"This certification builds on the achievements of our more than 20 year relationship with SAP," said Bill Allison, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and SAP practice lead in the U.S. "A goal of our longstanding alliance is to drive business value by helping companies transform ways in which they do business, and our application management services are designed to do just that."
