"It is an honor to be asked to lead a group of talented professionals committed to serving the needs of our East region," said Phillips. "I look forward to continued collaboration with my colleagues to grow our relationships and business in the communities where we live and work."
Phillips, 44, has served as Deloitte's Northeast regional managing partner since 2011 and as the organization's lead client service partner for one of the world's most successful investment and advisory firms. Deloitte combined its Northeast and Southeast regions to create the East region on June 2, the start of its fiscal year, to build on Deloitte's hallmark of exceptional, integrated client service. With Phillips' leadership of the newly combined region, Gary Tabach, the prior Southeast regional managing partner, will continue in his role as the Greater Washington managing partner, serving major clients in the Washington market and the East region. Tabach, one of the Washington Business Journal's "Power 100," has more than 35 years of experience in the market and serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the United Way National Capital Area.
"Henry has accomplished a lot in the short time as Northeast regional managing partner. He brings with him a clear vision and direction for the East region, being a driven and inspirational leader who builds and maintains strong relationships within Deloitte, with clients and with the local community," said Chet Wood, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP. "I am confident Deloitte will continue to grow, prosper and achieve new levels of success under Henry's leadership."
Phillips has spent his 21-year professional career with Deloitte, including many senior leadership roles. He is currently a member of the Deloitte U.S. Merger & Acquisition Services Leadership Council, and he is widely recognized for his relationships with senior executives in the business community.
Phillips is also committed to community involvement with a strong focus on youth development and education. He is a member of the national board of directors for the Posse Foundation and chairperson of the Posse New York advisory board.
Outside Deloitte, Henry balances career and family life with his wife and five children. He graduated from Albion College in Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Management.
